Tiny Home Loft Plans for a Bigger Space

By Lisa

If you are looking for a tiny house plan that includes a loft there are plenty of pre-built and made-to-order designs available. If you are living in your tiny house full time, these plans offer the most space for the money.

When you build up versus out, you can use the space for more necessities, such as a full kitchen. You could have a tiny house that has a full size refrigeration, stove, oven, cabinets and even a full-size washing machine.

Some options for your home would have a decent spaced living area with sofa, fireplace or wood stove, a fold-down dining room table and built-in bookshelves. The loft could be large enough to hold a king or queen-sized bed with room for a night table. There are options that would also include another bedroom which could be used if you have kids or you just want a guest bedroom.

Most of these homes can easily connect to a local sewer system or to its own septic tank if it’s a stationary home. You can get a regular sized porcelain toilet or go for a portable toilet or composting toilet depending on your needs. A shower stall could be easily installed or you can make it a wet room.

There are a few options you have for your roof. You can get a metal roof installed in almost any color or you can get traditional asphalt shingles. If you prefer vinyl siding, it is also available in a huge variety of colors. You can get either wooden or metal doors in the color you choose.

You will have to decide how many windows you want. You could look for used windows or buy them new with a guarantee. If you want to be connected online, you will probably want a satellite dish installed for internet. Likewise, you can just connect to a hotspot.

You have to decide if you are going mobile in your tiny home. If so, a loft may not be the best idea because there is a maximum height that is allowed on the road. You could still have a loft but it might be impossible to sit up in. You would have to crawl into it.

A loft is great idea to increase your living space but another great idea is to add a deck to your home if you have built it on a lot. You can make an outdoor kitchen on your deck or use it as a living area.

Using tiny home loft plans are great ways to add the much needed space by building up instead of out. If you want to take your tiny home on the road, a loft may not be feasible. Decide what you need and then build the tiny home of your dream.
